This high temperature, heat and flame resistant fiberglass gasket and seal rope is often used on gas turbine engine exhaust shroud, diffuser, cowl, plenum and stack components, and is fabricated from high quality type E fiberglass that will not burn and will withstand continuous exposure to temperatures of 1200°F / 648°C. This engine configuration is used in generator applications

This material resists most acids and alkalis and is unaffected by most bleaches and solvents. It is highly flexible and conformable. The base fiber is manufactured to the specifications of ASTM D-578, ASTM committee D13, and subcommittee D13.18.

The seals are jacketed with a knitted 304 stainless steel wire mesh, providing significant abrasion resistance. Supplied cut to length or available by-the-foot and in bulk quantity.

This seal can also be fabricated with Inconel, but the common part numbers listed in the catalog are supplied as standard with a stainless steel core and jacket. Some resellers inaccurately describe the standard seal as containing Inconel.

Available in precut lengths as part number R-TS-4900159-23 (23 feet long), R-TS-4900159-38 (38 feet long) & R-TS-4900159-48 (48 feet long). Used in GE LM2500 turbine for part number GE_4900159-38/A.
