FlameShieldä non-reinforced and reinforced equivalent silicone rubber tapes meet MIL-I-46852 / MIL-I-22444 and commercial specification A-A-59163 and are used for a variety of critical electrical wiring and cable splicing and protection jobs. Supported tapes have a sinusoidal weave glass layer which adds to the tape's mechanical structure ans reduces creep under high clamping pressure. Especially suited for aviation and marine environments, as well as outdoor weathering environments.
These equivalent tape have no adhesive, but sticks to itself (self-fuses or self-amalgamating) when stretched and wrapped onto itself. The tapes starts fusing as soon as it is over-wrapped on itself, and after several hours cannot be unwound or removed without using a sharp knife or blade. This tape makes a waterproof, weatherproof and air tight protection.
50N 51N 58N 59N 66N 67N 68N 69N 76N 78N 79N 88N 89N 98N 99N, equivalent tape is also used to wrap hydraulic connections and to make vibration resistant bumpers and spacers for wiring, cable, hose, pipes and lines. This tape is used to wrap and hold insulation in place on hot air ducts. Makes an in-situ bushing for protecting wiring at the back-shell clamp.
