Insulation Tape, Electrical, High-Temperature, Glass Fiber, Pressure-Sensitive with silicone adhesive.

This high temperature tape is heat, flame and fire resistant.  Fiberglass (fibreglass or glass-fibre) fine-weave woven tape with silicone adhesive.

· 2000 volt dielectric strength minimum - ASTM D1000 Test Method..
· .007" (.178mm) total thickness.  5 mil base material with 2 mil adhesive thickness.
· Tensile strength of 150 lbs/in (263 N/10mm).
· Elongation at break 5%,
· Adhesion to steel 30oz/in (3.3N/10mm) minimum,
· Flame Retardant - UL510
· Insulation 4.8x104 megohms.
· Maximum operating temperature is 200°C / 392°F.
· Tape is available in standard widths of 1/2", 3/4", 1" and 1 1/2" wide x 66 feet (20.1m). Custom widths available.
· UL recognized and meets Mil-I-19166C / A-A-59770A Type IV.
· Replacement for RG48 tape.

Smooth, excellent adhesion, high temperature use, insulation class "H".

This tape is used to provide reinforcing insulation in electrical installations.  Used on splices requiring more abrasion resistance and mechanical strength than can be provided by silicone tapes.  Extensively used in aviation.

This tape is often used as an insulation overwrap for bleed air and other high temperature ducting on gas turbine engines.  Although the rated temperatures is 392F/200C - it can be successfully used to 500F/260C due to the high temperature capability of the silicone based adhesive.

Shelf life is guaranteed for 5 years when stored 50 to 80°F (10 to 27°C) at <75% relative humidity.
