Rope and Packing Gasket Seals
Ropes are used in a variety of gasket and sealing applications. They offer easy installation and good performance. Ropes are often used as seals on wood burning appliances, bbqs, smokers, ash bins, kilns, paint booths, boiler access doors, heat treating ovens and many more applications. Fiberglass ropes are available in both soft and dense versions.
Ropes are generally round, or twisted. Square rope is used as a shaft seal on rotating shafts such as on pumps and marine driveshafts, and is called a packing.
A variety of rope materials are available and includes fiberglass, silica, aramid, ceramic fiber, vermiculite coated fiberglass, PTFE and graphite.
Custom ropes with multiple cores are available.
